Cominius Leugas, Caius
(fl. 18 AD)
   Roman explorer and discoverer of the mines at Mons Porphyrites. He built a sanctuary there in honor of the gods Pan (Egyptian Min) and Sarapis, in which he erected a black porphyry stela in 18 AD, indicating that he must have discovered the site that year or slightly earlier.
